Help information
Each Fabric OS command provides Help information that explains the command function, its possible
operands, its level in the command hierarchy, and additional pertinent information.
Displaying command Help
1.
Connect to the switch and log in as
admin
.

To display a list of all command help topics for a given login level, enter the
help
command
with no
arguments. For example, if you are logged in as
user
and enter the
help
command
, a list of all
user
-level commands that can be executed will be listed. The same rule applies to the
admin
role. In
addition, any user-configured command that uses a
switchAdmin
role will also see commands available
to users with the
switchAdmin
role.

To display help for a specific command for a given login level, enter
help
command
,
where
command
is the name of the command for which you need information.

The following commands provide help files for specific topics:

Administrative Commands timeout(1m)
NAME
timeout - Sets or displays the timeout value for a login session.
SYNOPSIS
timeout [timeval]
AVAILABILITY
admin (set)
all users (display)
DESCRIPTION
Use this command without any operands to display (in min-utes) the current
timeout value after which idle logins are automatically terminated.
Use this command with the timeval operand to set the login timeout value to
the specified interval. A value of 0 will disable the timeout functionality of
login sessions.
