HYDRAULIC BRAKE

When removing the
oil bolts, cover the
end of the hoses to
prevent contamina-
tion.
Disconnect the brake hoses from the brake caliper
by removing the oil bolts and sealing washers.
Remove the following:
–
brake pads (page 17-13)
–
two mounting bolts
–
brake caliper
DISASSEMBLY
Remove the caliper bracket from the caliper body.
Remove the following from the caliper bracket:
–
bracket pin boot
–
pad retainer
Remove the following from the caliper body:
–
caliper pin boot
–
pad spring
Place a shop towel over the pistons.
Position the caliper body with the pistons down and
apply small squirts of air pressure to the fluid inlet
to remove the three pistons.

BRAKE
HOSES
MOUNTING BOLTS
BRAKE CALIPER
CALIPER BRACKET
RETAINER
PAD SPRING
CALIPER BODY
PIN BOOTS
Do not use high
pressure air or bring
the nozzle too close
the inlet.
