Driving information
Before entering
the vehicle
Check that windows, mirrors and
lamps are clean.
Visually check tyre inflation. Check
tyre pressures weekly.
Before driving off
1. Close and secure all doors.
2. Position the seat for comfortable
driving.
3. Adjust rear view mirrors.
4. Fasten seat belts.
5. Check that warning indicators
illuminate when turning the
ignition on. See Warning lights,
gauges and indicators on
page 59.
Off-road driving
Hose down the front of the vehicle to
clear any mud or debris. Make sure
both sides of the radiator are clear.
All Wheel Drive (AWD)
The AWD Captiva is designed to
maintain a very high degree of
comfort, ride, handling and stability.
Therefore, ground clearance may
not be sufficient to allow the vehicle
to be driven over very severe four
wheel drive tracks.
For off-road driving, the vehicle
is equipped with AWD, increased
ground clearance and a traction
control system.
Drive slowly and with caution:
• On unfamiliar roads
• Where there are washaways,
loose or slippery patches, rocks,
fallen tree branches, deep pot
holes or ditches
Travel with another vehicle when
driving on remote or poor quality
roads.
