Driving and operating 171
Warning
Do not use the cruise control
when road or driving conditions
require varying speeds. A
consistent speed isn’t practical
in heavy, varying traffic or on
winding, slippery or rough roads.
The cruise control does not apply
the vehicle’s brakes. Therefore
the vehicle may gain speed when
going down steep hills.
When climbing steep hills
(particularly when towing) it is
possible for the vehicle to lose
speed. You may need to switch
off the cruise control and use the
accelerator pedal.
Cruise control
The vehicle may have cruise control.
The cruise control:
• Maintains the vehicle’s speed
without pressure on the
accelerator pedal
• Will only operate at speeds
above approximately 40 km/h
• Controls are located on the driver
side of the steering wheel
• Disengages by pressing the
brake pedal, pressing or
• Disengages when Traction
Control (TC) begins to limit
wheel spin. Switch the cruise
control back on when road
conditions allow.
Target vehicle speeds
If the DCS is activated:
• From a standing start or up to
10 km/h. The target vehicle speed
will be approximately 9 km/h
• When the vehicle speed is
between 10 km/h and 30 km/h,
the target vehicle speed will be
approximately 15 km/h
Note
• The DCS will not operate
when the vehicle speed is over
50 km/h.
• If the DCS is activated between
30 km/h and 50 km/h the system
will remain in standby mode.
DCS will not slow the vehicle.
• For the DCS to actively slow the
vehicle to its target speed, the
vehicle’s speed must be below
30 km/h.
