158 Driving and operating
If still unable to shift out of
P
:
1. Release the shift lever button.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal.
3. Press the shift lever button
again.
4. Move the shift lever to the
desired position.
If the shift lever still cannot be
moved, use the manual release.
See Shiftlock manual release on
page 158.
Shiftlock manual release
1. Turn the ignition control knob to
the lock position.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal.
3. Remove the mat in front of the
shift lever.
4. Remove the key from the keyless
access transmitter. See Manual
door locks on page 20.
5. Insert and press the key into the
transmission shiftlock slot.
6. Move the shift lever to
N
.
7. Remove the key from the slot.
8. Replace the mat.
9. Start the engine and move the
shift lever into any position.
10. Insert the key back into the
transmitter.
11. Have the vehicle repaired by
a Holden Dealer as soon as
possible.
Note
• If the shift lever is returned to
P
,
the above procedure will need
to be repeated to move the shift
lever into
N
.
• The above procedure will need to
be carried out if the vehicle has a
flat battery and requires towing.
