38. To secure the spare wheel
carrier, tighten the mounting bolt
firmly clockwise using a wheel
wrench.
39. Install the spare wheel carrier
mounting bolt cover and store
the equipment in the load area
compartment.
Note
Have the flat tyre repaired or
replaced as soon as possible and fit
on to the vehicle.
Place the spare wheel in the spare
wheel carrier.
Warning
The steel spare wheel is for
temporary use only. The vehicle
must not be driven at more than
80 km/h when this wheel is fitted.
As soon as possible after
changing a wheel, have the
wheel nuts tightened with
a torque wrench to 140 Nm
(Newton metres) evenly in
the sequence shown (refer to
Step 30) as wheel nuts which
have not been tightened properly
could eventually allow the wheel
to come off while the vehicle is
moving.
37. Align the spare wheel carrier
mounting hook with the spare
wheel carrier mounting bolt and
engage the thread.
