13. Lower the jack (approximately

20 cm) to the point where the

spare wheel carrier check strap

can be removed from the carrier.

Warning

The exhaust may be extremely

hot. Do not touch any part of it.

14. Remove the spare wheel carrier

check strap by rotating the eye

loop anticlockwise approx. 90°

and sliding it off the end of

the carrier shaft towards the

passenger side of the vehicle.

Note

The jack may need to be adjusted

up or down to allow for enough slack

to remove the check strap.

15. Lower the jack as far as it will go.
