• If the engine does not start
within 10 seconds, wait another
15 seconds to let the starter
motor cool down.
• Turn the ignition control knob
to the start position again with
the accelerator pedal pushed
to the floor, for a maximum of
10 seconds.
• If the engine still does not start,
release the ignition control knob
and pedal.
Wait another 15 seconds, then
repeat the entire procedure.
• If the engine still fails to start,
contact a Holden Dealer.
Engine will not crank or start
1. Turn the ignition control knob to
the off position.
2. Turn the ignition control knob
to the start position to start the
engine again.
Automatic transmission
shiftlock control system
The vehicle has a Brake-
Transmission Shift Interlock
(BTSI) system.
The shift lock release is designed to
prevent movement of the shift lever
out of
P
, unless the engine is on and
the brake pedal is applied.
Note
The shift lock release is always
functional unless the battery is
discharged or has low voltage.
To shift out of
P
:
1. Apply the brake pedal.
2. Press the shift lever button.
3. Move the shift lever to the
desired position.
Note
If
o
illuminates while starting
the vehicle, a fault may have
occurred. Contact a Holden
Dealer to have the fault repaired.
Warning
Petrol engine: When starting the
engine, do not hold the ignition
control knob in the start position
for any extended time. If unburnt
fuel were to reach the catalytic
converter and ignite, the catalytic
converter could overheat or be
destroyed by backfire.
Note
Do not subject the engine to full
throttle acceleration or high speeds
until it has reached normal operating
temperature. Premature engine wear
or damage may result.
