6. INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
6-6
6.3.2 Before installing or removing components
When installing or removing components, comply with the following instructions.
WARNING
Before starting work, shutdown the OS, unplug the power cord from the outlet, and wait for at
least one minute. Failure to do so might result in an electric shock or equipment failure.
CAUTION
When installing or removing components, do not directly touch parts inside the equipment with
your hands. Such parts are hot, and touching them might result in burns. In addition, touching
such parts might damage the parts or result in equipment failure.
•
Ensure sufficient clearance for maintenance work. Work on a flat surface. (See 1.6.2 Installation.)
•
Wear cotton gloves when installing or removing components.
•
When tightening or removing screws, use a Phillips screwdriver (JIS #1 or JIS #2) to avoid stripping the heads.
•
To avoid damaging the threads when tightening screws, drive the screw along the axis of the tapped hole without
adding too much torque.
In addition, each work item has individual instructions. Comply with these instructions as well.
