Useful configurations for the machine tool operator:
In order to improve the structure of large NC programs, use the
control’s structuring function
"Structuring programs", page 205
Use the control’s commenting function in order to document
NC programs
When the machining of drill holes and simple pocket
geometries, use the comprehensive cycles available in the
control: See the Cycle Programming User's Manual
For fits, output the contours with
RL/RR
tool radius
compensation. This makes it easy for the machine operator to
make necessary compensations
Separate feed rates for pre-positioning, machining, and
downfeeds, and define them via Q parameters at the beginning
of the program
Example: Variable feed rate definitions
1 Q50 = 7500 ; POSITION FEED RATE
2 Q51 = 750 ; FEED RATE FOR PLUNGING
3 Q52 = 1350 ; FEED RATE FOR MILLING
