Program layout
NC programs should be arranged consistently in a similar manner.
This makes it easier to find your place, accelerates programming
and reduces errors.
Recommended program layout for simple, conventional
contour machining
Example
0 BEGIN PGM BSPCONT MM
1 BLK FORM 0.1 Z X... Y... Z...
2 BLK FORM 0.2 X... Y... Z...
3 TOOL CALL 5 Z S5000
4 L Z+250 R0 FMAX
5 L X... Y... R0 FMAX
6 L Z+10 R0 F3000 M13
7 APPR ... X... Y...RL F500
...
16 DEP ... X... Y... F3000 M9
17 L Z+250 R0 FMAX M2
18 END PGM BSPCONT MM
1 Call tool, define tool axis
2 Retract the tool
3 Pre-position the tool in the working plane near the contour
starting point
4 In the tool axis, position the tool above the workpiece, or
preposition immediately to workpiece depth. If required, switch
on the spindle/coolant
5 Contour approach
6 Contour machining
7 Contour departure
8 Retract the tool, end program
