Appliance Setup
A. Remove the Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath
the
fi
rebox. Verify all components are with the
fi
replace.
B. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the
fi
rebox or underneath in the control cavity.

Remove Barrier Glass - Clean Face Finish
1. Press glass suction cups
fi
rmly against glass to create
a solid hold.
2. Slide glass straight up behind
fi
nishing material. See
Figure 11.1.
3. Tilt bottom out as shown in Figure 11.1. Slide glass
down to remove it from the appliance.
4. Set glass on prepared work surface.
WARNING! Risk of Injury!
Handle barrier glass with
care. Inspect the glass for cracks, chips or scratches.

strike, slam or scratch glass.

DO NOT
operate
fi
replace with glass removed, cracked,
broken or scratched.

Replace as a complete assembly.
CAUTION! Risk of Injury!
Glass installation and removal
must be performed by a quali
fi
ed service technician. See
chart below for barrier glass weights.
• PRIMO60 AND PRIMO72 MODELS: It is recom-
mended that glass installation and removal be per-
formed by two quali
fi
ed service technicians.
Replacing Barrier Glass - Clean Face Finish
1. Press glass suction cups
fi
rmly against glass to create
a solid hold.
2. Tilt glass and slide glass between
fi
nishing material
and barrier glass tabs. See Figure 11.2.
3. Center the barrier glass left to right.
4. Tilt bottom in toward appliance. Set glass down into
position on rubber bumpers.
NOTE:
When barrier glass is installed, a vertical gap of
approximately 3/8 inch is formed between the bottom of
the glass and the transition media tray. This gap allows
adequate air
fl
ow through the appliance.
CAUTION! Risk of Cuts or Abrasions.
Wear protective
gloves and safety glasses during installation. Sheet metal
edges are sharp.
CAUTION! Risk of Overheating!
Vertical gap 3/8 inch

ow.

E. Install Media
A media kit is available for use with the PRIMO models.
Install rock media according to instructions included with
media kit.
D. Install Modern Log Set
An optional log set is available for use with the PRIMO
models. Install the log set per instructions included with
kit.
C. Install Burner Glass
Install the burner glass according to the instructions in
Section 6.E.
