BPM-test
The functionality of the blood pressure module,
BPM, is described in chapter 2, Technical de-
scription.
The maintenance to be carried out for the mod-
ule is to check the accuracy for the pressure
transducers, to check the air leakage, to check
the inflation speed and to check the deflation
speed.
By entering the service menu it is possible to
perform a check of the BPM device to determine
if it works correctly.
It is recommended to perform the test at least
every 12 months or after a repair/exchange of
the BPM.
Use following equipment:
-
BPM Cuff no.3: 100 900 089
-
BPM Tubing no. 1 (3,5 m): 100 900 094
-
BPM test equipment: K2 2151 001 (100 mm
diameter rigid cylinder)
-
Pressure transducer calibration tube kit:
K13 983 002.
-
Pressure reference instrument: Measurement
accuracy of ± 0.8 mm Hg
Test method:
1. Attach cuff no. 3 tight to the BPM test equip
ment, according to the illustrations below:
2. Start the AK 95 S with the main switch and
the ON/OFF button.
3. Enter Service mode.
4. Enter Diagnostics mode.
5. Select BM, BPM
BPM sub-tests
In the BPM service menu the following four
subtests are included
:

Def
AirLeak
PrTest
-
Air leakage test: measures that the equip-
ment is airtight.
-
Inflation speed test: measures the time to fill
the cuff with air.
-
Deflation speed: measures the speed of air
release from the cuff
-
Pressure test: Check of pressure transducer
calibration
Each of the tests can be carried out separately
but the above order for carrying out the sub-
tests is recommended.
Check that the results from the sub-tests not
exceed following limits:
-
Air leakage: maximum 18 mmHg/ 3 min
-
Inflation speed: 2 -7 s
-
Deflation speed: 4 - 6 mmHg/s
-
Static pressure: Maximum deviation from
reference to be within ± 3 mm Hg.
50 ± 3 mmHg
150 ± 3 mmHg
250 ± 3 mmHg
