Notes and Restrictions

Notes and Restrictions on Using the Printer

This section lists the notes and restrictions that apply to the printer.

Hard Disk (Optional)

• An abrupt shut down of the printer due to a power failure or other disruption may corrupt 

data in the hard disk.

• The <Power Saver> lamp blinks when the hard disk is being accessed while the printer 

is in the Power Saver mode. Do not switch the power off when the <Power Saver> lamp 
is blinking.

Optional Accessories

• To use the Security/Sample Print feature, install the optional hard disk to the printer.

• To use the DocuPrint C3055 as a PostScript printer, install the PostScript software kit 

(optional) to the printer. If installing the PostScript software kit, it is recommended that you 
install additional memory (optional) of 256 MB or above.

• To use [Print Page Mode], you must install additional memory to the printer. Setting [Print 

Page Mode] to [On] changes the printing method of the printer. When printing large data, 
or when the printer is taking too much time to print, set the [Print Page Mode] to [On] and 
try printing again.

Meter Counts for 2-Sided Print Pages

When printing a job 2-sided, depending on the application being used and the print quantity 
setting, the application may automatically insert a blank page in the job. In such case, the 
blank page is counted as 1 page.

When Printing Monochrome Documents

Due to the mechanical construction of the printer, the printer consumes color toners even 
when printing in monochrome.

When Images are Not Printed Properly 

Images with transparency or those layered on top of each other may not be printed properly 
due to insufficient memory. In such case, try performing the following:

• If the [Grapics] tab > [Print Mode] is set to [High Quality] on the print driver, change it to 

[Standard].

• Install additional memory. 

When Printing from a Macintosh Computer Using Bonjour 
(Multicast DNS Feature)

When setting [Printer Name] on CentreWare Internet Services, use only alphanumeric 
characters, symbols, and spaces. If you use other characters, the printer will not print from 
Macintosh computers. The default [Print Name] is [FUJI XEROX DocuPrint C3050] or [FUJI 
XEROX DocuPrint C3055 DX] depending on the printer model.
