Removing cPCI and PMC Option Boards

Make sure that the mains power supply is disconnected from the module
unit before continuing.

Remove a cPCI option board as follows (see Figure 25 and Figure 26):
1. Follow the instructions in Chapter 3 to dismount the module unit
from a rack if additional access is required
2. Note the location and orientation of all cables connected to the
option board (1)
3. Disconnect any cables connected to the internal or external ports
on the option board.
4. Disengage the two retaining locks (2) securing the option board to
the chassis.
5. Carefully disconnect the option board from the connector on the
backplane and remove the option board from the module unit.
6. If you intend leaving the option connector vacant, install a slot
cover to maintain the EMC and thermal integrity of the enclosure.
7. Follow the instructions in Chapter 3 to reassemble the module
unit.
Caution
!
Take care when handling the storage device. The active components on
the storage device are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), and can
easily be damaged. Take anti-ESD precautions such as wearing isolation
gloves or an antistatic wriststrap.
