Setting up with using FOMA PC
configuration software
The FOMA PC configuration software allows you to
perform the packet communication or 64K data
communication with simple operation.
FOMA PC configuration software
The following settings are available for the FOMA PC
configuration:
Easy setup
"FOMA データ通信用ダイヤルアップの作成 (Creating
a dialup connection for FOMA data communication)"
and "W-TCP
の設定
(W-TCP setup)" can be performed
easily by following the instructions of the guide.
W-TCP setup
This function optimizes the settings in the PC required
for "FOMA (FOMA packet communication)".
Optimization of the communication settings using "W-
TCP 設定 (W-TCP setup)" is required to make full use
of communication performance.
Dialup connection (APN) setup
This function performs "Dialup connection (APN)
setup" required for "Packet communication".
Unlike 64K data communication, phone numbers are
not used for dialup connection for FOMA packet
communication. Set a dialup connection name called
APN (Access Point Name) in FOMA terminal for each
dialup connection and enter the registration number
(cid) in the phone number to connect field. APN
"mopera.ne.jp" is registered to connect to mopera as
cid #1, and APN "mopera.net" is registered to connect
to mopera U as cid #3, by default. Additional settings
are required to connect to other providers or Company
LAN.
• cid (Context Identifier) is the number compatible with
packet communication dialup connection (APN) and
is required to set APN registration to FOMA terminal.
Installing FOMA PC configuration software
The procedure of installation on Windows XP is
described as an example.
• Install on Windows XP or Windows 2000 after
logging on with the name having administrative right.
Installing with any other names results an error. For
procedures to set administrative right of PC, contact
to PC manufacturers or Microsoft Corporation.
•
Before installation, make sure no other programs are
activated. Save and exit all active programs and
restart installation.

Insert provided CD-ROM into the CD-ROM
drive of PC.

Click " いいえ (No)" to terminate the install
procedure.

タスクトレイに常駐する
(Resident in
Notification area)" and click " 次へ (Next)".
"W-TCP 設定 (W-TCP setup)" is displayed on
Notification area after installation is done.
• This function is to set or release for optimizing
"W-TCP communication" and the residence is
recommended. Can set to reside not only in this
step but after installation.

Confirm the installation path and click " 次
へ (Next)".

Click " 参照 (Browse)" to change and specify
the installation path, and then click " 次へ
(Next)".

Confirm the program folder name and click

(Next)".
Installation starts.
•
Enter a folder name and click " 次へ (Next)" to
change.

Click " 完了 (Finish)".
"FOMA PC (The FOMA PC configuration
software)" is started.
• Various settings can be started continuously.
