VHF COMM XMT
The COMM XMIT push buttons are used to control air-to-air, and air-to-ground transmission using the
simulated radios. They allow the instructor to play the role of the opposing station for communication
and to transmit on the selected channel. The push buttons are illuminated green when off, illuminated
dim amber when active, and bright amber when transmitting.
Activate the VHF COMM #1 XMT push button to transmit using the COMM #1 frequency
tuned by the flight crew.
Activate the VHF COMM #2 XMT push button to transmit using the COMM #2 frequency
tuned by the flight crew.
3.5.1.2.
AUX #1 AND AUX #2
The AUX #1 and AUX #2 are non-functional spare push buttons. When these buttons are operational
they will be identified with their usage.
3.5.1.3.
PILOT, CO-PILOT, and OBSERVER MONITOR
The Pilot, Co-Pilot, and Observer Monitor push buttons are used by the instructor for communicating
privately with the student pilot or co-pilot or the observer. These push buttons are illuminated green when
off, illuminate dim amber when active, and bright amber when transmitting.
Activate the Pilot Monitor push button to communicate privately with the pilot.
Activate the Co-Pilot Monitor push button to communicate privately with the co-pilot.
Activate the Observer Monitor push button to communicate privately with the observer.
3.5.1.4.
INSTRUCTOR AUDIO and MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE
The Instructor Audio Control Knob is used to adjust the volume in the instructor’s headset.
The Maintenance Interphone jack is located beneath the instructor work surface. To use the maintenance
system, plug the headset and microphone into the maintenance jack.
