3.10.1.6.2.

Setting the Relative Position Slew

The Relative Position Slew overlay is used to adjust the position of the aircraft according to the aircraft
coordinates. Refer to Figure 3-25. There are four slew controls for this function: Fore, Aft, Left, and
Right. This overlay can be used in conjunction with the Alt/Hdg/Spd Slew overlay to position the aircraft.
The Relative Position Slew overlay cannot be used in conjunction with the Absolute Position overlay. If
using the Relative Position Slew overlay, selecting a slew control in the Absolute Position overlay will
cancel the relative position slew.

1) Select desired slew control button for the slew to be performed. The selected button(s)
remain highlighted while the slew is in progress.

2) Select the desired slew rate by selecting either the Low, Medium, or High Slew Rate
button on the Slews overlay.

3) To cancel the slew, deselect the highlighted slew control button on the Relative Position
Slew overlay.

4) To cancel the slew and remove the overlay select the CANCEL button.

3.10.1.6.3.

Setting the Absolute Position Slew

The Absolute Position Slew overlay is used to adjust the position of the aircraft in the direction specified,
regardless of the orientation of the aircraft. Refer to Figure 3-25. There are four slew controls for this
function: North, South, East, and West. This overlay can be used in conjunction with the Alt/Hdg/Spd
Slew overlay to position the aircraft. The Absolute Position Slew overlay cannot be used in conjunction
with the Relative Position overlay. If using the Absolute Position Slew overlay, selecting a slew control
in the Relative Position overlay will cancel the absolute position slew.

1) Select desired slew control button for the slew to be performed. The selected button(s)
remain highlighted while the slew is in progress.

2) Select the desired slew rate by selecting either the Low, Medium, or High Slew Rate
button on the Slews overlay.

3) To cancel the slew, deselect the highlighted slew control button on the Absolute Position
Slew overlay.

4) To cancel the slew and remove the overlay select the CANCEL button.
