PROGRAM EDITING
5.3 TEACH-IN PROGRAMMING
It is possible to generate a part-program automatically by moving the axes and entering
in each block the current position values after each move.
This feature may be useful, for example, when copying a previously machined part.
The rest of the values such as tool change and tool compensation must be entered
afterwards by means of the “Program Editing” function as described above.
Follow these steps to access this mode of operation:
*
Press the
key and select the “PROGRAMMING” option.
*
Select the “TEACH-IN PROGRAMMING”.
The DRO will show the name of each axis and it will wait for the program number to
be entered. This number may have up to 5 digits. After pressing
, the DRO
will show the positions of all the axes of the machine.
The procedure to enter the position values of the different points into the program
blocks is as follows:
*
Move the axes to the desired point.
The new axes position will be displayed.
*
Press the
key or generate a probe signal.
The DRO generates a new program block whose number is displayed at the
bottom of the screen and it will assign the current position as axes positions values
in the block.
When it is the first block, the DRO will also add the tool number selected in that
block.
*
Repeat those two steps for each point of the part’s profile.
When done with all the points of the profile, press the EXIT softkey to quit the
TEACH-IN mode and return to the display of the “PROGRAMMING” menu.
