2.16 PROGRAMMING THROUGH THE COMPUTER
All the programming performed through the KP120D keyboard may also be done by using a PC and a dedicated
software (FastLink, management program developed in the Windows environment).
This programming mode is more intuitive and easier to be implemented, and allows you to operate on the system
even through remote control.
You may connect your PC to the system in two different ways:
•
LOCAL: the optional TTL/RS232 interface card shall be used on the control unit for this type of connection.
The
cable shall be of the straight, female/female 9-pole type (DB9 connector), max. 10 m long, with pin 1 not
connected.

REMOTE: this type of connection can be made only with the control units equipped with PSTN telephone
interface, and also requires a modem (the DIGICOM SNM49 – ELKRON Botticelli models are recommended).
Serial transmission parameters: 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, baud rate: 9600 bps.
2.16.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Below are the basic requirements for the PC to be used:
•
Processor: 300 MHz or higher.
•
128 MB RAM memory.
•
15 MB free space on the hard disk for program installation (saving the system configuration files requires more
free space)
•
CD-ROM or DVD unit.
•
Mouse.
•
Serial port (or USB, with USB-serial adapter) free for local connection to the control unit.
•
Microsoft Windows 98 (or subsequent releases).
2.17 SYSTEM TEST
After the system devices have been installed and configured, the system shall be checked for correct operation.
The test procedures are described in paragraphs
2.14.5 TEST CALL
and
3.13 Periodical tests.
In addition to the tests on the inputs, outputs, vocal call and centre call, the following tests shall be carried out:
•
system actuation and deactivation through the keyboards.
•
System actuation and deactivation through the inserters (if available), by using all the available keys.
•
System remote control — if the communicator has been installed — through the fixed telephone set, mobile
phone or modem (in these cases, the assistance from an external collaborator may be required). All the
instructions for these controls are contained in paragraph
3.9 Remote control user

2.18 EVENT MEMORY ERASING
Warning!
The erasing operation is not reversible!
When installation has been completed, it is recommended that all the events occurred are erased from the
memory, in order to deliver a “clean” system. To erase the event memory file, proceed as follows:
1. type in the Installer code (factory setting: 000000), then press
ENTER
