Introduction
To manage the ChannelWorks Bridge remotely, you can connect to its serial port
through a dial-up connection using a 9600-baud modem. This appendix covers the fol-
lowing topics:

General Description
There are two basic types of cables for serial devices:
•
Serial modem cables are used to connect modems.
•
Serial null modem cables are used to connect personal computers.
Note:
You must use shielded cables to maintain compliance with FCC and other regulatory
agencies’ radio frequency emission limits.
