Troubleshooting 5-3
•
Double-check that the transmit and receive frequency assignments match those
assigned for operation.
•
Double-check the transmit and receive frequencies set-up on the unit using the
procedures in Chapter 3.
•
Double-check that there is a translator at the headend, it is set to the proper trans-
mit and receive frequencies, and it is powered on.
•
Verify with someone who is responsible for the cable TV system that tap RF levels
comply with specification.
•
Verify that the unit’s parameters are consistent with the rest of the system.
Activity LEDs (
,
)
Ethernet and cable TV LEDs should flicker at least every 2 seconds, indicating span-
ning-tree packets are being transmitted. If the activity LEDs do not come on:
•
There may be no devices locally or remotely connected to the network.
•
Verify that you have active devices locally on the network, and at a remote site that
is attached to the same cable TV system through the ChannelWorks Bridge, on the
same frequencies.
•
Try to send traffic from one Ethernet device to another, transfer a file for example.
•
If running TCP/IP, try “pinging” each installed ChannelWorks Bridge.
If you are still having problems, call your support team.
