4.5.2 Test Controls
vPad-IV shows the test screen immediately after a pump test is started on the channel. Tests in progress can
be controlled with the following buttons which are found near the bottom of the tablet display:
Stop
Stop the test and generate a summary of the test results
Graph
Show a graph of acquired data up to and including the current elapsed time
Reset
Discard recorded data and restart the test
Cancel
Abort the test and return to test setup
4.5.3 Synchro-Start
All tests that measure flow enter a special "Synchro-Start" state at the beginning of a test, or when the test is
reset. On the screen, the "Volume" and "Flow" displays initially appear grey, and the test timer remains
frozen while waiting for the device under test to begin infusing (
Figure 34
).
After starting a test, the vPad-IV app will not measure flow, volume and time until the sensor in the
vPad-IV Module detects fluid delivery. When accurate measurement of the infused volume is important, set
the required VTBI or Dose on the infusion device, configure and start the vPad-IV test, and then start the
infusion device
after
starting vPad-IV. If the purpose of the test is to measure the rate and not the volume
