8.1 Key
Codes
The table below shows the key codes used to define keystrokes or hotkeys for several functions.
Please note that these key codes do not represent necessary key characters that are used on
international keyboards. These key codes refer to a standard 104-key PC keyboard with US
English language mapping. The layout for this keyboard is shown in the figure below. However,
most modifier keys and other alphanumeric keys used for hotkey purposes in application programs
are in an identical position, no matter what language mapping you are using. Some of the keys
may have aliases, meaning that they can be named by 2 key codes (in the table these are
separated by a comma).
The key codes in the table below refer to a standard 104-key PC keyboard with US English
language mapping. The layout for this keyboard is shown in the keyboard diagram below:
