VRRP
Configuring VRRP
The
Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)
dynamically assigns responsibility
for virtual routers to the VRRP routers on a LAN. This allows several routers on a
multi-access link to utilize a single virtual IP address.
VRRP routers are configured to run the VRRP protocol with other routers attached to
a LAN. In a VRRP setup, one router is elected as the master router with the other
routers function as redundant routers. The router election process provides a fail-over
for forwarding responsibility if the Master router is unavailable.
The
VRRP Operation Table
sets VRRP routing parameters. To open the
VRRP
Operation Table
:
Select
Router > IP > VRRP > VRRP Operations Table
. The
VRRP Operation Table
opens.
