Operating the unit in Mesh Point mode or Mesh End mode
If the Cisco FM1200 Volo radio transceiver unit is installed as part of a
mesh network architecture, it can be set to operate in either of two
operating modes:
•
Mesh Point Mode:
This is the default operating mode. Each radio
transceiver unit that is part of the network, but is
not
connected to
the wired LAN backbone, must be set in
Mesh Point
mode.
•
Mesh End Mode:
Each radio transceiver unit that is part of the
network and
is
connected to the wired LAN backbone must be set
in
Mesh End
Mode. A Mesh End transceiver unit is always the
junction point between the wireless network and any IP-based wired
network.
