Engine control module (ECM)

6. Remove the engine control module (ECM) from the bracket.
7. If replacing the bracket, detach the transmission control module (TCM)/engine

control module (ECM) bracket from the frame.

To Install:

1. If replacing the bracket, attach the transmission control module (TCM)/engine

control module (ECM) bracket to the frame. Torque the bolts to

89 in-lb (10 Nm)

.

2.  Install the engine control module (ECM) into the bracket.
3.  Connect the engine control module (ECM) connectors.
4.  Install the cover over the transmission control module (TCM)/engine control module

(ECM).

5.  Connect the cooling fan connector.
6.  Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
7.  If a new engine control module (ECM) was installed, program the module.
8.  Use a scan tool to set the engine oil life.
