The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations or
procedures that could affect the proper functioning of your equipment. If they do, you will
be notified in advance in order for you to make necessary modifications to maintain
uninterrupted service.
Electrical Safety Advisory
We recommend the installation of an AC surge arrestor in the AC outlet to which this
equipment is connected. Telephone companies report that electrical surges, typically
lighting transients, are very destructive to customer terminal equipment connected to AC
power sources.
Warning: Any replacement of fuses should only be done by service personnel.
Warning: Proper AC source grounding, and grounding circuit continuity are vi-
tal for safe operation
Warning: Use only the 3-wire, 3-terminal power cord provided for the FaxPress
units.
Warning: To preclude the possibility of electrical shock, do not ever remove
the FaxPress chassis.
Safety Warning Messages
To prevent damage to the FaxPress system board, it must be handled with care. The
following measures are generally sufficient to protect your equipment from static
electricity discharge:

When handling the system board, use a grounded wrist strap designed for
static discharge elimination and touch a grounded metal object before remov-
ing the board from the antistatic bag. Handle the board by its edges only; do
not touch its components, peripheral chips, memory modules or gold contacts.

When handling processor chips or memory modules, avoid touching
their pins or golden edge fingers. Put the value communications appliance sys-
tem board and peripherals back into the antistatic bag when not in use or not
installed in the chassis.
