Image Control 1 menu.
Figure 5.12: Image Control 1 screen
Increasing or decreasing the settings for each of the image control functions above can be done
by:
•
Tapping
the
+
or
–
buttons to change the setting in single increments/decrements (e.g. 50%,
51%, 52%, etc.)
•
Tapping and holding the
+
or
–
buttons
while the settings increase or decrease by at least
five single increments/decrements, at which time, the setting will then automatically increase
or decrease by whole increments/decrements of 5 (e.g. 50%, 55%, 60%, etc.)
Note
Refer to
3.3.1 Using the Touch Screen
for explanations of the navigational buttons on
the Image Control 1 screen.
Brightness
The Brightness control defines the resulting
brightness of the image. A lower value
results in darker images, a higher value
results in brighter images.
Contrast
The Contrast control defines the contrast of
the image. A lower value results in an
image that is smoother, a higher value
shows more details and the image will
become crisper.
Note
Setting the Brightness or Contrast
control values close to either 0%
or 100% may result in unwanted
artifacts.
Gamma
The Gamma control defines the gamma
correction used by the scanner cameras. A
value of 1.6 is a good approximation. The
range of values are from 0 (no gamma) to
2.5 (maximum gamma). A higher gamma
value shows more details in darker areas
and compresses bright areas.
