8. Login to the Web-based Interface as a Poweruser to display the Device Setup screen (refer
to sections
7, 7.1 and 7.1.2

), Base Settings section, click on the
Network Configuration
button to display the Network Configuration screen (

10. If using the IP Configuration Method of ‘Manual’, change the IP address, subnet mask and
gateway to a valid address in your network
If you want the scanner to obtain the IP address automatically, select DHCP from the drop
down list for the IP Configuration Method
11. Click the
Apply
button to save the new settings
12. Power OFF the scanner
13. Change the network settings of the local PC back to their original values (
Step 2
above)
14. Disconnect the crossover cable from the local PC and the scanner and store for future use
15. Connect the local PC to the network using a standard Ethernet cable, reboot the local PC,
and login to the network
16. Connect the scanner to the network using a standard Ethernet cable
17. Power ON the scanner
18. Open an Internet browser on a PC that is connected to the network and enter the scanner’s
new IP address into the address bar of the browser. Communication is successfully
established when the
Home Page
of the Web-based Interface is displayed
Note
If you are having difficulty with establishing communication over a network, please
contact your IT/Network personnel before calling the BBH Help Desk. The BBH Help
Desk cannot assist in setup of communications to your local LAN. Please note that
network security software has been known to cause communication issues during
setup.
Remote PC Network Configuration Modification…
To change the IP Address of a scanner using the Web-based Interface with a remote PC,
perform the following:
1. From a remote PC, login to the Web-based Interface as a Poweruser to display the Device
Setup screen (refer to sections
7.7.1 and 7.1.2
above)
2. Within the Device Setup screen, Base Settings section, click on the
Network Configuration
button to display the Network Configuration screen (
