Caution
Before using the scanner in a new environment allow at least one hour for
temperature adaptation. A fast change from cold to warm environmental conditions
can build up condensation inside the housing. This will result in unfavorable scanned
images and could cause permanent damages to the unit.
When the Infinity WF is powered ON using the
main power switch
, the Touch Screen will light
up in a dimmed mode showing the stand-by screen, which displays a “Touch screen to power
up” message.
Figure 3.2: Stand-by screen
Anytime the Touch Screen displays the stand-by screen, the scanner is in stand-by mode, and
its power consumption is only 8 Watts. To be able to use the scanner, tap anywhere on the
Touch Screen to bring the scanner out of stand-by mode and apply full power. The Touch
Screen will light up showing a rotating hourglass indicating that the start sequence is running.
After approximately 45 seconds, the Touch Screen will display the Main menu and be ready for
use.

To place the scanner back in stand-by mode, press and hold the
Stop
button on the Touch
Screen for at least 5 seconds.
Note
Use of the term ‘Power OFF’ in this manual, refers to removing power to the scanner
fully (section
1.6.1 Powering ON/OFF
) – power consumption is 0; unlike placing the
scanner in stand-by mode, where the scanner still is operating with 8 Watts of active
power (see
3.3 Ready for Use
).
