9 Maintenance
and
Repair
This section of the manual covers the general maintenance (including cleaning) and repair of
the Infinity WF 42” and 48” scanner.
Caution
Before performing any maintenance, cleaning, repair on the scanner, read all
additional
Safety Notes
in section 1.1.
9.1 Cleaning
the
Scanner
Although the Infinity WF scanner is designed with a minimum of maintenance and cleaning, it is
necessary to periodically clean the scanner.
Caution
Before cleaning the scan area (with the exception of cleaning the transport rollers in
section
9.1.1
), be sure to turn the scanner power off and disconnect the power plug.
Cleaning Kit
To clean the scanner you must use the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Standard Cleaning Kit
(S005666). This kit can be purchased by calling BBH Sales at 1-800-SCAN-494 or online at
www.bbhscanners.com
. The Standard Cleaning Kit (S005666) contains the following items:
•
Scanner Glass and Roller Cleaner;
•
Scanner Glass Cleaning Cloth;
•
Roller Cleaning Wipes; and
•
Lint Free Swabs.
Caution
•
Only use the BBH specified cleaning materials.
•
Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene or fluids that contain these chemicals.
•
Do not spray liquids directly onto the scanner, the glass plate or anywhere else in
the scanner.
•
Only apply cleaning solutions directly to lint free cloth, never directly to the
scanner.
