Plug the female end of the power cord into the power cord receptacle on the left side of the
scanner (see 1.2 Component Identification,
Left Side of Scanner
). Connect the three-pronged
male end of the power cord into a properly grounded, three-holed, AC outlet.
1.6.1 Powering
ON/OFF
The scanner’s main power switch contains two symbols: ‘I’; and ‘0’. ‘I’ designates the power as
ON; and ‘0’ designates the power to be OFF.
To power ON the scanner, press the scanner’s main power switch so that the ‘I’ is in the full
down position (pressed in flush with the scanner body) – see
Figure 1.26
.
To power OFF the scanner, press the scanner’s main power switch so that the ‘0’ is in pressed
in flush with the scanner body.
Note
Use of the term ‘Power OFF’ in this manual, refers to removing power to the scanner
fully (section
1.6.1 Powering ON/OFF
above) – power consumption is 0; unlike
placing the scanner in stand-by mode, where the scanner still is operating with 8
Watts of active power (see
3.3 Ready for Use
).
