Client PC Setup - Windows 98
Windows 98 Modifications
On a machine with Windows 98 already installed, you
must
perform all of the following
in sequence
before
installation of CCC modules:-
1. The Client PC name must
not be
the same as the Server PC name (see either
pages 16 (Windows NT) or 23 (Windows 200/XP) for Server name and see below
for changing the Client PC name).
2. Map the Network Drive to the Server PC (see below).
3. Install the appropriate CCC licenses (see page 44).
4. Ensure that the Regional Settings are set [e.g. for USA set it to English (United
States)] and that the Time is set to local time.
5. Make sure that the screen display properties have been set to the following:
Desktop Area is set to 800 by 600 pixels

Color palette is set to True Color (32 Bit).
Changing the Client PC Name
Make sure that there are no programs running on the PC then follow the instructions
below.
1. From the Windows Taskbar, click
Start
, point to
Settings
and select
Control
Panel
.
2. From the Control Panel, double click on
Network Identification.
3. Select
the
Identification
and change
Computer name
as appropriate.
4. Change
Workgroup
to the new domain name of the Server PC (see pages 16
(Windows NT) or 23 (Windows 200/XP) as appropriate).
5. In
the
Computer Description
box, enter the either Server domain name or the
Server's IP Address and click
OK
.
Map Network Drive
1. From the Windows 98 desktop, right click
Network
Neighborhood
and select Map
Network Drive.
2. Select a Map Drive (e.g. E:), in the Path Type
\\
server name
\
C$, see page 23 for
server name.
Ensure that
Reconnect at logon
is ticked.
3. Click
OK
. This enables you to share the CCC (e.g. Call Center View) files.
You are now ready to install the CCC applications as detailed in Installing CCC on
page 27.
