Precautions in Maintenance Inspection
1
.
When the maintenance inspection of the unit has been decided on, or when the unit has been found in
need of repair as a result of inspection, consult your local Atom representative and take one of the
following measures.
1)
Ask someone who has completed a training course specified by Atom and who has sufficient
technical knowledge and skills to do the work.
2)
If you cannot find anyone who has completed a training course specified by Atom and who has
sufficient technical knowledge and skills, request Atom to dispatch a service engineer.
3)
Request Atom to receive and repair the unit.
2
.
Before using the unit, read the operating precautions very carefully.
3
.
Periodic inspection is needed to use the unit in the optimum condition.
4
.
Do not use a faulty unit.
Take appropriate measures so that a faulty unit will never be used inadvertently before it is
inspected and repaired properly, or before the settings are changed for normal operation. Such
measures include indicating on the unit that it is under inspection/repair, and keeping it away from
other devices that can function accurately.
To use the unit safely for a longer period, conduct maintenance inspections as noted below.
●
Inspection before use
Check the basic functional operation of each part every time you are going to use the unit.
●
Three-month inspection
Check each function every three months or so.
Shorten the inspection interval if the unit is used frequently.
●
Parts requiring periodical replacement
Some parts need periodical replacement based on their period of use.
Medical institutions are responsible for conducting a maintenance inspection. They
are allowed to have an appropriate external specialist conduct a maintenance
inspection of the unit.
Before a maintenance inspection, repairs, or disposal, disinfect the unit and its
accessories.
Maintenance service should be performed properly by a qualified person in accordance
with this Service Manual.
