normal speed (-1.00 or +1.00), the vertical interpolator
is “inactive”.

OFF
When the vertical interpolator is OFF no vertical
interpolation takes place. During Field output mode,
single fields are simply repeated to display a complete
frame of video.
On the status menu overlay, there is an Interpolator indicator that appears when
the Output Mode is set to “Field” and the Vertical Interpolator is enabled.
With Field output mode selected, the display reads “f1” or “f2” for field-1 or
field-2. If the vertical interpolator is ON and currently processing video, an upper
case “V” appears. The vertical interpolator indicator appears as a lower case “v”
if the interpolator is ON but not actively processing the video. If the vertical
interpolator is OFF, the space after “f1” or “f2” is left blank.
With the Frame output mode selected, the indicator shows “f1-2” or “f2-1”
depending on the video field relationship at the video output. If the Cine output
mode is selected, the “f1” display area instead reads “Cine”. In both these cases,
the vertical interpolator is automatically deactivated, and the “V” indicator is not
displayed.

F3 Play Mode
Press
(
Play Mode
) to select the play mode. This function is also
accessible directly by the and buttons on the Attaché control
panel. The “Cine” function is canceled by selection of either of these two buttons.
While operating in the 525 line standard, pressing
toggles between the
Normal
,
Seg
, and
Cine
playback modes.
While operating in the 625 line standard, pressing
toggles between the
Normal
and
Seg Play
playback modes.

Normal
Places the Attaché in the Normal Play mode — the
default system mode. When selected, the label in the
Playback Mode area of the status menu overlay reads
“
Norm
”. The entire disk area is now available for
playback, and new recordings may be made. The
Normal play mode must be selected in order to make
recordings.
