Locks the Attaché system to the green (or luminance)
portion of the component analog video (CAV) input

Free Run
Allows the Attaché to free-run. The video outputs from
Attaché will not be locked to any external signal

neither video input or external reference. Use this
setting when playing back by non-video means, such as
Ethernet, or when running the Attaché without a
reference signal.
If you are playing back using a “video” pathway, for example, from the Attaché
to a VTR, lock each device to the same external reference signal. This requires
the use of the Reference Input in the Attaché.
If you are recording on the Attaché where the reference sync is aligned with the
Attaché video input, select “Use Play Ref ” with the
(Record Ref)
softkey in the Setup Video Timing Menu (this menu is selected with
from the HOME Menu).
If you are recording on the Attaché where the reference sync IS NOT aligned
with the Attaché video input, select “Sync on Input” with the
Record
Ref)
softkey in the Setup Video Timing Menu (this menu is selected with
from the HOME Menu).

DO NOT switch references while recording or playing the disk! During
recording, switching the reference source will corrupt your recording.
During playback, the video output stream will be briefly interrupted.
The reference sync source must be stable and of proper specification in order for
the Attaché system to operate properly.

If no incoming sync is detected, the label “NO SYNC!” appears on the
Status Menu Overlay display.
