) to toggle the communications protocol of the two
RS422 ports between
SMPTE

Sony
. With
SMPTE
selected you set the SMPTE
address (device address) for the Attaché by typing a number (from 1-99) on the
numeric keypad and then pressing
. Be sure to check the editing system’s
technical manual for the correct protocol. Changing the protocol to a different
setting will automatically turn the Editor port Off.

SMPTE 1
Selects the SMPTE protocol for purposes of
communicating via RS422 on editor port #1. The
numeral appearing after the “SMPTE” indicator is the
address of the Attaché as a SMPTE device. You may
change this address by typing the desired number (from
1 to 99) into the numeric keypad and then pressing the
softkey. The numeral after the SMPTE
indicator is changed to the new value.

Sony
Selects the Sony protocol for purposes of
communicating via RS422 on editor port #1.
The default value is Sony.

F3 Edit Field
Press

Edit Field
) to set the field dominance of the Attaché when
used as a recording device under external editor control:

Enables the Attaché to edit on field-1 boundaries when
assigned as a recorder.

F2
Enables the Attaché to edit on field-2 boundaries when
assigned as a recorder.
Â

Allows the external Editor to perform mixed field edits,
where the edit on/off position is based upon command
timing. The edit field boundary may be either field-1 or
field-2, depending on the value sent by the editor.

F4 TC Fld Report
Press

TC Fld Report
) to toggle the Timecode Field Report ON and
OFF. With TC Fld Report turned OFF, the Attaché reports timecode information
to the external control device that will maintain only frame accuracy during edits.
