These softkeys are primarily used to set up operational conditions
for the DDR (such as video input format, remote control protocols,
etc.). Secondarily, the softkeys are used for operational functions
such as segment list editing, macro constructions and mode
selections. Maintenance functions are also accessed with the
function softkeys. Refer to Section 2.4 for an explanation of the
Attaché “menu tree”.
The
button is used to exit from a submenu on the menu status
display. The softkey menu tree is no more than two layers deep.
Therefore, pressing the
button twice in succession will always
return the status menu to the HOME menu display.
Some items within the softkey function menus as well as hardkeys
on the control panel require a shift function. The
button is used
to access those functions. For example, to perform a destructive
disk formatting process, one must press and hold the
button in
order to execute the operation.
The
button is used to determine the state of the status menu
overlay on the composite video output. The
button has control
over the three states of the overlay: FULL, PARTIAL, and OFF.
Each press of the
button selects the next state. The LED within
the
button illuminates whenever the menu display is present on
the composite video output.
