AC 800F Functional Description
5-20
In the standard case the AC 800F uses an IP address with the first three digits
defined by default and the fourth one given by the coding switch position:
Slot
E1:
172.16.1.<Coding switch position>
(only for positions 1 ... E)
E2:
172.16.16.<Coding switch position>
(only for positions 1 ... E)
Make sure that the last field of the IP address is unique in the
respective network !
Example for slot E1
•
Coding switch in position 1
→
IP address = 172.16.1.1
•
Coding switch in position 9
→
IP address = 172.16.1.9
•
Coding switch in position A
→
IP address = 172.16.1.10
•
Coding switch in position E
→
IP address = 172.16.1.14
Special case
The special case is valid if:
•
the Ethernet is connected to other networks or
•
other nodes are working on the Ethernet, together with the AC 800F or
Freelance 2000 components (process station, operator station, engineering
station) or
•
more than 14 AC 800F are used on a system bus
(notice maximum bus load) or
•
the respective Ethernet module is plugged in slot E1 or E2.
In this case the coding switches of all Ethernet modules working in the network have
to be set to position 0. Note that you can set the IP address range as described for the
standard case for up to 14 Ethernet modules.
Make sure that the assigned IP addresses are unique in the relevant
network!
