AC 800F Functional Description

Bootstrap and/or startup of the operating system
After the configuration has been done as described above using item <B>ooting or
after the waiting time has elapsed without any keyboard entries being made, the Boot
Loader attempts to start an existing operating system and to call up a system
configuration (if existing), or it waits for the bootstrap through the engineering station,
depending on the configuration.
Setting:
Force execution of BootLoader:
The message
Force Remote Boot !
Fujitsu MBM29DL800T detected
(<- depending on flash type)
DFC-BootLoader waiting ...
is displayed until an Ethernet connection to the configuration PC is established. After
this the Boot Loader records all stations to which a connection has been established
and the station from which bootstrap is done.
In the first phase of the bootstrap the domain of the flash EPROM dedicated to the
operating system is erased. While bootstrap is in progress the menu indicates as a
percentage how far data transfer has already been completed. Data is written to a
special domain of the flash EPROM and verified in several steps.
After successful data transfer the connections to all stations are broken off, and the
startup code of the operating system is executed.
