Did you avoid branch cables?
With potential differences: are the appropriate compensating cables used?
Was the cable sheath stripped off properly so that it can be put on the contact
ledge?
Are the connectors fastened with screws?
With redundancy:
Is the used connection suitable for the RLM 01?
Is an external termination installed at both cable ends?
With FO cables, only: Is the appropriate interface converter used?
Are signals RTS, VP and GND connected in addition to the interface converter?
Is the appropriate FO cable used?
Cabling the serial module EI 820F (4.3.2)
With RS232C, only: Is the max. cable length of 15 m observed?
Is the appropriate cable used (with sufficient wire CSA, shielded)?
Was the connector shield applied to terminal P?
Were all connector pins not assigned to RS232C left free?
