AC 800F Functional Description
5-28
Case 2 Operating system additionally available in flash EPROM
If an operating system is additionally available in the flash EPROM, it will be started
instead of the Boot Loader. The operating system also checks slots E1 and E2 then.
In this context, ready to operate does not mean the same thing as in the context of the
Boot Loader. Here, the Ethernet module must be connected to an error-free bus
structure. Otherwise, another state can be indicated by the State LED of the module,
which is to be added to the states already described above:
State LED, Ethernet modules
•
Orange flashing
Power supply switched on, module identified. However, the
Ethernet module is not connected to a correct bus structure.
Normally, the operating system then starts the modules plugged in slots F1...F4.
Again, the State LED indicates the module state according to the list below:
State LED, fieldbus modules
•
Off
No voltage applied, module is separated
•
Orange
Power supply switched on, module identified, but not yet
configured
•
Red
Module power supply switched on:
- Not yet identified (intermediate state after normal startup
of the module or
- Module test error
Case 3 Project configuration additionally available in RAM
If a project configuration is additionally available in the RAM, the operating system will
start processing for every module plugged in slot F1 ... F4 and considered in the
configuration.
Two states indicated by the State LED are added to the ones described above:
State LED, fieldbus modules
•
Green
Power supply switched on, module identified and ready to
operate according to configuration
•
Red flashing
Power supply switched on, module identified, processing error.
