Functional Description of the Fieldbus Modules
7-6
State LED
The top LED on the module front panel is always the State LED. It indicates the
following :
•
Off
No voltage applied, module is separated.
•
Green
Module is active and working properly.
•
Orange Module has been identified by AC 800F, but has not yet been activated.
•
Red
Module under power, but not yet identified, or an error has occurred.
The commissioning procedure of a fieldbus module always includes the following
cycle:
•
Off
No voltage applied, module is separated.
•
Red
Module under power, but not yet identified (takes at least 200 ms).
•
Orange Module has been identified, but has not yet been activated; module self-
tests are performed, taking about 1...10 seconds (depending on module).
•
Green
Module is active and working properly.
If the State LED is permanently lit red upon switch-on of the slide lock, this indicates
that identification has failed. Possible reasons are that the module in its currently
loaded version is not supported by the AC 800F software or that it is plugged into the
wrong slot.
If the State LED changes over from orange to static red, a hardware error has been
detected during the module self-test, or the module software is not compatible with
the AC 800F. If the State LED changes over to orange or orange flashing, this may
indicate a communication problem on the fieldbus which also disables activation on
the system level.
It the State LED cannot obtain the green static state, you should connect a terminal
to the diagnostic interface of the AC 800F. Then deactivate and re-activate the
respective module using the slide lock. Further information will then provided to you
via the diagnostic interface.
