AC 800F Functional Description
5-18
EDC unit
Every 32-bit value in the main memory is provided
with a checksum to improve data integrity.
Correct 1-bit error
Signal 2-bit error.
EPROM
Burst flash EPROM for rapid access. Programmable
while installed in the system, no need to replace
EPROM
8 MB, 32-bit words
EEPROM
Configuration data memory and diagnostic data
memory independent of battery buffering
Serial 16 kbit EEPROM,
write cycles
≥

,
data retention
≥
10 years
Diagnostic interface
Serial diagnostic interface (see also Sections 4.1.5
and 5.4).
RS232, 9600/19200 bauds.
Temperature monitoring
Operation at temperatures outside the permissible
range
reduces
the
MTBF.
Therefore,
the
temperature
is
measured
cyclically
and
overtemperature is signaled. Signaling is reset at
hysteresis temperature.

Connecting/disconnecting fieldbus modules
Modules in slots F1 ... F4 can be plugged in and
removed while the system is running (i.e. when live).
Follow the instructions given in Section 7.1.
Plugging cycles
≤
1000
Current per contact
≤
1 A
Watchdog
The independent watchdog module will reset the
module if not triggered within a specified time. This
avoids "blocking" of the operating system.
Trigger time
≤
1.6 s
Real-time clock
The time and date of the real-time clock must be set
when the AC 800F is used for the first time. When a
buffer battery is used, this setting will be maintained.
If the max. possible deviation should be too
important, it is recommended to use a radio clock.
Basic accuracy:
±
20ppm
Temperature influence:
-10/+120 ppm
Aging:
±
5 ppm/a
Max. deviation per year:
-1104 ... +4573 s/a
