Your Service Provider will provide you with the information required on
this page.

Select the name of the Gateway from the
Gateway
drop-down menu.
The default selection is
None
. This list identifies the voice gateways
supported by the OfficeConnect Gateway. The voice gateway is physically
located in your Service Provider’s central office (CO).
The
Gateway
drop-down menu lists the following selections:

JetStream (a Voice Gateway vendor)
■
CopperCom (a Voice Gateway vendor)
■
LES 1.0 Profile 9 (a LAN Emulation Service specification)
This specification, developed by the ATM Forum, describes how to
support LAN emulation. LAN emulation is a technique that
specifies the interfaces and protocols needed for providing
LAN-supported functionality and connectivity in an ATM
environment, so that legacy protocols can interoperate with ATM
protocols, interfaces and devices.
The OfficeConnect Gateway will work with any voice gateway that
is compatible with LES 1.0 Profile 9.

Companding is an operation in which the dynamic range of signals is
compressed before transmission and is expanded to the original value at
the receiver. The use of companding allows signals with a large dynamic
range to be transmitted over facilities that have a smaller dynamic range
