Solution
A Barcode Scanner Fault message appears in
PredictPrint Media Manager that indicates
one of the following conditions:
• The barcode scanner is not connected.
• The barcode scanner is not detected
during startup.
• Ensure that the barcode scanner is connected to the print
server.
• Restart the system.
More than one barcode scanner is detected
Ensure that only one barcode scanner is connected to the
print server.
The following Barcode Scan Error appears:
The last attempted barcode scan
was unsuccessful.
• Ensure that the barcode is a valid and complete barcode.
• Rescan the barcode.
• If the error message persists, scan another barcode.

To improve image quality, perform these actions:
• Manage the
Stock Library
for the media in use. Refer to
Editing an Existing Stock in the Stock
• Run print samples and evaluate the defect.
• From the following list, determine which problem description matches the image quality defect
and perform the appropriate suggested solution.

Problem
The back side of the printed output contains contamination. The contamination is a specific toner
defect of 10–15 mm wide running from long-edge (LE) or trail-edge (TE), and is near the outboard
(OB) side of the print.
