6.4.14 Burst Test Application
The Burst Test Application tests the burst pressure of an external device. A device such as a rupture disk or any
device that must be tested for burst pressure can be connected to the Measure / Control port. Enter the Parameters
below then press start to initiate the test.
■
High Point: The highest pressure that the controller will control to during the test and should be set at a value above the point
where the burst pressure is expected to be.
■
Low Point: The pressure point below the value where the burst pressure is expected to be. It is also the point where the
controller switches from Fast Rate to Slow Rate.
■
Fast Rate: the rate at which the controller will control pressure to the Low Point.
■
Slow Rate: The rate at which the controller will control between the Low Point and the High point.
If the Device under test must experience a burst condition between the Low Point and the High Point the instrument will indicate
the burst point at the end of the test. If the device under test does not experience a burst condition the burst test screen will
indicate a complete status. The burst test is initiated by pressing the Start button. Figure 6.4.14-A and 7.4.14-B show the different
status messages during a burst test.
