STS-<#> Added

Selects foreground STS# of the mapped signal.

When available, select the

STS-<#> Added

button to enter

the number of the specific STS channel to set as the

foreground

(source) channel. The default setting is 1. The

source channel can be used to transmit alarms, errors, or
patterns.

For example, this setting selects which of the four STS-

48c channels in an OC-192 signal is the foreground channel,
the channel not selected are considered background
channels.

Select

ALL

to replicate the transmitted foreground test

channel over all background channels.

When

All Path

mapping is selected, this setting is

renamed to

SPE Added

VT Added

Selects foreground VT# of the mapped signal.

When available, select the

VT Added

button to enter the

number of the specific VT channel to set as the

foreground

(source) channel. The default setting is 1. The source
channel can be used to transmit alarms, errors, or patterns.

This option appears when VT mapping is selected.

Background STS-
<#> Pattern

Allows the user to select the type of pattern to be inserted
into the remaining

background

channels for the SONET

signal.

Select one of the following patterns:
