Expected SS Bits

Selects one of the following as the expected SS Bits (bits 5
and 6 of the H1 Pointer byte) value:

•

00 (SONET)

•

01 (Undefined)

•

10 (SDH)

•

11 (Undefined)

TC Error/Alarm
Processing

Enables

Disables

Tandem Connection Monitoring (TCM)

alarm reporting mode.

The following options are available for

STS mappings

•

Enable

: The Z5 byte is monitored for TCM error and

alarm reporting mode.

•

Disable

: TCM mode is disabled, and the Z5 byte

follows normal operation.

The following options are available for

VT mappings

•

Path Enable

: The Z5 byte is monitored for TCM error

and alarm reporting mode.

•

VT Enable

: The Z6 byte is monitored for TCM error

and alarm reporting mode.

•

Disable

: TCM mode is disabled, and the Z5/Z6 bytes

follow normal operation.

The

TCM Summary LED

turns red if a TCM error or alarm

is reported. Select the TCM Summary text for more details.

Disable this option if you are not performing TCM testing

to prevent false error and alarm reporting.
